This would have made a much better film. The voice acting was a mixture of great and fair. Bishop was a treat to have from Lance Henriksen, bút hið age was apparent in his voice, cutting into the emersive experience.
The story itself felt like a light touch on the Alien universe, with only two new developments in works building: the contagion aspect of alien procreation (which Cameron resurrected in his prequels) and a synthetic hybrid. All together it feels like had this been adapted to the screen it would have made for a fun third film but not a stand out favorite.

I finally got around to this one and I'm glad I did. The story is very different in tone and setting than the previous book. This felt more like an adventure with colorful and memorable characters than the military story in book one. The ending has set some major changes in motion for the next story as well. Can't wait to read that next.

This book has the charm of weirdness. The endings are quite varied and I never felt railroaded into a single path. Deaths aplenty in these pages!

Some fantastic recipes in here that really show off the creativity of a Dutch oven. You know you're in for something special when a recipe calls for flipping the lid upside down.
The into has a nice guide to Dutch ovens as well. Glad I picked it up from the library. Many note cards have been filled!
