In this book, accompanied by his huge and loyal bodyguard/sidekick/advisor Butler, Artemis engages in a series of surreal activities; the absence of his missing father and the mental disorder of his mother allow him to pursue the unlikely position of a criminal mastermind. Be prepared for a thrilling adventure, with trolls, magic and much more!

Review of 'Artemis Fowl' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

Artemis is an interesting character because he's a villain worth of a James Bond caliber "good guy," but he's also a twelve year old kid who's scared for his mom and worried about his father.

The author's reimagining of classic fairy tale creatures, especially the explosive dwarfs, is really fun.
