A tale inspired by the writings of Tiro, Cicero's confidential secretary, traces the life of the ancient Roman orator from his beginnings as a young lawyer through his competitions with Pompey, Caesar, and Crassus in the political arena.

Review of 'Imperium' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

This was a decent story, but much less dynamic and exciting than the other Rome series I'm reading. Cicero and Tiro are great characters, but this doesn't quite elevate itself past the common trappings of historic fiction.

Revised:
I gave this story another listen and it resonated much more. I'm moving it up a star!
