Mare is a Red blood, a mere thief in a poor village, until a twist of fate throws her in front of the Silver court where she discovers she has a supernatural ability of her own, so to cover up this impossibility the king forces her to play the role of a lost Silver princess, but Mare risks everything to help the growing Red rebellion.

I liked the beginning, even with the similarities to any number of other books. Once the plot got moving, though, the story got away from the author. Motivations were strained until they didn't make any sense. Betrayals only worked on the surface. Overly powerful characters avoided using their powers to discover the poor plotting of the main characters because... luck, I guess?
